Erik Satie Guitar

It doesn’t seem likely that you could translate a piece of music meant for a piano into a song on a guitar.
Yet Steve Hackett, a former guitarist for the former Phil Collins band Genesis, managed to do just that in 2000 when he released “Sketches of Satie”, a series of Erik Satie’s best songs redone on acoustic guitar. He was joined by brother John on the flute for some of the compositions. Hackett noted on his website some difficulties with translating the notes to guitar strings, though some fine-tuning got them through just fine.
Available online or in music stores everywhere, “Sketches of Satie” costs what you’d expect for a CD and is a must-by for fans of Satie, Hackett, or both. The following songs are included on the CD:
